Bruce Daniel Howe

Bruce Daniel Howe

Bruce Daniel Howe, 61, of Pleasanton, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at his home April 16, 2025.

Born on July 9, 1963, in Johnson City, Bruce grew up in nearby Blanco, where he graduated from Blanco High School, Class of 1981. He spent several years working in Blanco, as a truck driver, before living for a time in San Antonio and eventually making his home in Pleasanton. Most recently, he worked at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts, where he was known for his reliability and quiet kindness.

Bruce inherited a deep love of music from his late father. He enjoyed listening to a wide variety of music and found great joy in playing the guitar. Those who knew Bruce will remember him as a kind, funny and gentle soul — self-reliant, independent and private, yet always thoughtful. His presence, though quiet, left a lasting impression on those around him.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Eugene Howe and Mary Bible Howe. He is survived by his brother, Thomas Howe, and sister-in-law, Amy; his nephew, Andrew Howe; and his niece, Jenna Zia. Though he had no spouse or children of his own, Bruce was deeply loved by his family and will be missed greatly.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 24 from 2-5 p.m. at Blanco State Park. Friends and family are invited to gather, share fond memories, and enjoy light refreshments in honor of Bruce’s life. Kindly RSVP to Amy at [email protected]. The park entrance fee will be covered by the host—just inform the staff upon arrival that you are attending Bruce Howe’s Celebration of Life.
