Charlie Evers Schmidt

Charlie was bom on September 4, 1962, to Evers and Helen Schmidt. He was bom in Austin, and later moved to London, Texas, then to Junction where he graduated in 1981. He attended TSI in Sweetwater where he received a certificate in welding.
He returned to Junction and married Trina Renee Meredith on March 1, 1986. They had four children three boys and one girl. Charlie and family moved to Mason County in 1997 onto the family’s land near Hilda, where he started his own business. Schmidt Construction took off and through years of hard work, blood, sweat and tears he was able to build something to be proud of. Charlie was able to leave his mark in every comer of the community with his road construction business. One of his proudest moments was having the opportunity to help rebuild the Mason ISD tennis courts. He said it was by far the most challenging job he has done and having had the opportunity to build something that future generations would enjoy meant a lot to him. Charlie was a member of The River of Life Church in Mason.
He will be remembered for the love he had for his family, willingness to help others, his ability to make Charlie Evers Schmidt
dang good BBQ and the art of carrying on a good conversation.
Charlie is survived by his wife Trina, son Chas of Mason. Son Ryan and Erika Schmidt and granddaughters Sara Peyton, Jade, Tatum Raye and Kelby Jane of Graham. Son Caleb and Kristin Schmidt, grandsons Charles Owen and Christopher Warren of Stephenville. Daughter Emmie and husband, Warrant Officer Scott Wareham and grandsons Mason and Wyatt of Fort Novosel, Alabama. His mother, Helen Meyer Schmidt Habecker, sister Alisa and husband Mark Strandmo and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Evers Schmidt. Grandparents Wilburt and Bertha Meyer and Egon and Emmie Schmidt.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 31 st at 11:30 a.m. at 5594 Grossville School House, Mason.
