While in Llano she developed her life-long love of drawing and painting. She studied with many outstanding instructors using watercolor, acrylic, and oil. She painted, gardened, sewed, baked, and crafted throughout her colorful life.

Patty and Jim retired and moved to Fredericksburg, Texas in 2004. Their retirement years were some of their happiest, as they surrounded themselves with family and friends.
