Jim Zacharias

Jim “Jimbo” Zacharias, a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, passed away March 12, 2026, in Horseshoe Bay. Born in Texas, Jim was born Sept. 16, 1950, and spent most of his life in the place he loved – Texas – with a memorable chapter living in California.

A proud lifelong Texan and devoted University of Texas fan, Jim had a gift for enjoying life and bringing people together. He loved golf, fishing, cooking and sharing good food and conversation with family and friends. Faith, family and friendship were at the center of his life. With his easy smile and welcoming spirit, Jim truly never met a stranger.

Jim married the love of his life, Sharon Taylor, and together they shared 37 wonderful years of marriage. They built and operated a successful printing and publishing company, traveled often, remodeled homes, and hosted lively gatherings filled with fam ily and friends.

In retirement, Jim and Sharon enjoyed time in Palm Springs and Horseshoe Bay. Jim cherished the camaraderie and friendships formed through countless rounds of golf. His Christian faith remained an important part of his life, strengthened through the Links Players and the pastors and community of the Church at Horseshoe Bay.

Jim brought laughter, generosity, and warmth to those around him. His life was a blessing to many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family is grateful for the outpouring of love, messages, calls, and tributes that have made these divcult days more bear - able.

A memorial service will be held May 2 at 2 p.m. at The Church at Horseshoe Bay, at 600 Hi Ridge Road in Horseshoe Bay. A reception will follow. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
