Rosa Alva Gonzalez
Rosa Alva Gonzalez

Mom did not seek attention, yet her presence was deeply felt. She loved thrifting, shopping, and finding small treasures that brought her joy. What began as a taco trailer outside her home grew into Taqueria Tres Caminos. To her and our stepfather, Ernesto Gonzalez, it was more than a business; it was a way to serve others. Every morning, she prayed over her food so that each person who received a plate would also receive a blessing to carry them through their day.
She shared six beloved children with our father, Hector Berreles: Hector Luis (Sara), Rosa (Nelson), Minerva (David), Marco Antonio (Dora), Fernando, and Ludivina (Johnny). She loved her children beyond measure. She often said it didn’t matter what others thought; her children were hers to defend, and she stood by them always with unwavering loyalty and love.
Those children gifted her with grandchildren: Lacey, Joshua, Vincent, Emoryee, Seante, Alexandria, Miranda, Jason, Athena, Antonio, Branson, Adan, Xavier, Urijah, Audriana, Eliana, Xander, Noah, Kristopher, and numerous great-grandchildren. Mom also wanted to mention her other children, those she did not birth but claimed as her own nonetheless: Brian, Shane, and Jeff Haley; Brandy Lewis and Stormy Miller; Kristi (Chapman) Schaffler; Cory Lewis; and Adam Cortez. She thought of you often and smiled at the memories you shared. She was proud to have taught many of you a few Spanish words and how to roll tortillas and cherished those moments.
Her three sons-in-law, David Luna, Nelson Acosta, and Johnny Castillo, were more like sons to her. She appreciated the time, care, and sacrifices you gave so freely. She loved you deeply and was grateful for you.
A special thank you to Dora Vasquez, Mom’s constant companion through work, shopping, and life. She loved you like a fourth daughter and treasured your presence by her side. Thank you for all that you did for her.
Mom also wanted to thank the Mason County Cancer Benefit for providing financial support for needed testing. Your generosity meant so much to her and to our family.
Her legacy is one of quiet faith, steady resilience, generosity, gentle humor, and deep love for her family. She worked hard, prayed daily for those she loved, and cared for others in simple but meaningful ways. Through her food, her prayers, and her laughter, she touched many lives without ever seeking recognition. She loved her family wholeheartedly and always stood by them.
We love you, Mom, and we will miss you every day. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23 Hector Luis, Rosa, Minerva, Marco Antonio, Fernando, and Ludivina.
