JOEL COLORES CERVANTES (1951-2026)

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joel Colores Cervantes of Blanco, who departed this life on Feb. 9, 2026, at the home of his son, surrounded by family. Born on July 13, 1930, in Oaxaca, Mexico, Joel graced this world with his presence for nearly a century, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion.

Joel is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Angelina Nieto Cervantes. He is survived by his three children, Juan Cervantes, Angelina Bucio and Lydia Cervantes, as well as his stepdaughter, Maria Garcia. He cherished his family, which includes 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, along with numerous other esteemed relatives and dear friends.

For many years, Cervantes called Blanco his home, where he dedicated himself to the community through his work at Klepac Nurseries before retiring. His contributions and gentle spirit will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, at Croft –Crow Funeral Home in Blanco, where a Rosary service will commence at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Feb. 28, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Blanco, officiated by Rev. Kyle Nesrsta. Following the Mass, Cervantes will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Angelina, in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

The family invites all who knew and loved Joel to join them in honoring his memory and celebrating a life well-lived. He will be deeply missed by all.
