Georgia was born on February 22, 1938, to Chas (Charlie) and Hilda Hoffmann. She was the youngest of four siblings. Over the course of her life, she was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she witnessed the growth of her family across multiple generations.
Georgia grew up in Castell, Texas and graduated from Llano High School. She married her school sweetheart, Fred Adrian Hopson, in 1957. She worked in the A&M Consolidated School District print shop until the family moved to Cedar Park, Texas, where she then managed the print shop for the Leander Independent School District until she retired in 2003. After retirement, she moved back to her family home in Castell, Texas.
She is survived by her three daughters, Charlotte Nadine Hopson, Gretchen Elaine Copeland (Hopson), and Natalie LaVerne Geisler (Hopson); seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Adrian Hopson, her parents, and her siblings, Evelyn Sagebiel, Harold Hoffmann, and LaVerne Tate.
A graveside service will be held on January 9, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church in Castell, Texas at 2:00 pm. A small reception will be held at the church facilities immediately after the graveside
service.
