happiness before his passing on August 18, 1991.
Maria grew up in Eagle Pass, Texas, with her loving family. She left her home there to work for Annetta Hall to be a caretaker & nanny for Jimmy & Gene Hall. This brought her to Llano, where she met her love, Sabas.
Maria, affectionately known as Me Ma Maria, had many interests & was always a hard worker doing various jobs to get the bills paid. She was a ranch worker, nanny, cleaned homes, managed a local laundry mat, worked at the local grocery store, caretaker to many family members and friends. She helped clean the Catholic Church and would do any laundry needed by the church.
Most importantly of all she was a special homemaker to her children, friends, family and anyone else that walked into her home. No one was a stranger. If one needed help, she would send food to your home.
There are not enough words or space to describe Me Ma Maria. A few of her best traits are she was always loving, kind, friendly, thoughtful, optimistic, and selfless.
Me Ma Maria had a few favorite hobbies. She loved gardening and raising plants. If one had a dying plant, she always found a way to bring it back to life. In her earlier years, she loved to cook and sew.
Me Ma Maria was a person of faith. She was always praying for her family & friends. She was a faithful member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Llano. The Churched ministered to her up to her time of death.
She is survived by her daughter Lucy & (Daniel Garcia) and her son Sabas & (Donna) Najar, Jr. Siblings: Chano Robles, Francis (Lee Dec’d) Benavides, Doris (Alejandro) Martinez. Grandchildren: Melissa M. (William) Yeary, Christina (Hector C.) Del Fierro, Joshua E. (Brittney H.) Najar.

I wanted to give thanks to the folks that helped my mom, Maria on her final steps in her journey of life.
All the staff at Baylor Scott & White of Marble Falls, to get her well enough to come home. All the staff at New Century Hospice that aided her to pass peacefully. All the staff at Llano Nursing and Rehab Center who took care of her for many years and to her final day. Father Jacob Hurlimann who prayed for her and gave her last rites before her passing.
Most of all, many thanks to Lucy Garcia as a loving daughter that stood by her side for many years and held her hand until her passing. She is a fine reflection of Me Ma Maria’s upbringing.
