Robert 'Bobby' Brewer

Robert 'Bobby' Brewer

Robert “Bobby” Brewer, of Blanco, passed peacefully away on Aug. 18, 2025, leaving behind a trail of laughter, love and a garage that firmly reminded everyone: Chevys only, no exceptions.

Bobby was born on Dec. 18, 1942, in Homer, Illinois to Wayne and Marcella Brewer, and grew up in the heart of central Illinois. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army, where he quickly proved himself as someone you could count on – earning the honored role of “Colonel’s Orderly.” It was a position given only to soldiers with the highest standards, though Bobby himself would’ve probably just said it meant he kept things running smoothly.

After his service, Bobby went on to climb poles and light up the world – literally – as a lineman for an electric company. He later taught electrical safety at Texas A&M University and became safety coordinator at Pedernales Electric Co-op, where he made safety rules sound like gospel and was admired for his dedication. Beyond work, he gave back as a Blanco County volunteer fireman and raised his voice in song with the choir at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Bobby will always be remembered for his humor, generosity, and those big bear hugs that could brighten anyone’s day. He had a soft spot for antique trucks, cars, and motorcycles – as long as they were Chevys. He was also a pretty smooth dancer, which is exactly how he caught the attention of Judy, his beloved wife of 43 years, who had to share him with his collection of Marilyn Monroe memorabilia.

Family was at the center of Bobby’s world. He and Judy married on May 22, 1982, in San Antonio and filled their home with laughter, traditions, and plenty of stories. He was a die-hard Texas A&M fan (Gig ’em!) and loved nothing more than a good deer hunt with friends or a Saturday spent with family.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Judy Brewer; daughter, Stacy Hinze; son-in-law, Scott Hinze; grandchildren, August and Harlan; sister, Melinda Felgenhour; step-sons Bruce, Steven and Glenn Malone; and step-granddaughter, Deven Malone A celebration of life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 703 Main Street, in Blanco at 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 30, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Blanco County ESD 2 Auxiliary in Bobby’s honor. Donations can be made in person at the station located at 431 Blanco Ave. or mailed to P.O. Box 972, 431 Blanco Ave, Blanco, TX 78606 The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Morning Star Memory Home staff for their loving care, and to all who supported Bobby throughout his journey.

Though Bobby’s time here has ended, his laughter, kindness, and good-natured spirit live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
