Granny's early years were spent in the lush landscapes of Louisiana, where she was born to the late Robert and Marzilla Hawkins. She shared her childhood with her siblings, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Doris attended high school in Llano, where she formed friendships and acquired knowledge that would serve her well in her future endeavors.
After completing her education, Doris embarked on a fulfilling career with Texas Instruments, where she worked until her retirement. Her dedication and hard work were a testament to her strong character and her commitment to providing for her family.
Doris was predeceased by her father, Robert Hawkins, her mother, Marzilla Hawkins, her sister Peggy Holcomb, her sister Faye Ann Brewer, her brothers Johnny and Bobby Hawkins, her granddaughter Brandy Morgan, her grandson Robert Whitaker, and her son Timmy Whitaker. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her surviving sister, Rosena Ahrlett; her daughters, Shelia McCrary (Mark Bush), Lisa Simpson (married to Lawton Simpson), and Mary Whitaker; and her adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Granny's love extended to Frankie Whitaker (married to Monica), Levi Simpson (married to Cassondra), Travis Simpson (married to Haylee), Seth Simpson, Samuel Whitaker (married to Calie), Hunter Roemer (married to Melani), and Jayla Roemer (married to Taylor). She was also a proud great-grandmother to Nevaeh Mize, Oktober Simpson, Leif Simpson, Freya Simpson, Whitlee Simpson, River Simpson, Ayler Simpson, Harley Whitaker, Justin Whitaker, Miles Whitaker, Peyton Whitaker, Logan Whitaker, Ripley Lynch, Madeline Roemer, and Ramsey Roemer. Doris's legacy of love also extends to her many cherished nieces and nephews.
Throughout her life, Granny was known for her loving nature, her sense of humor, and her passionate zest for life. She had a deep love for Elvis Presley's music and never missed an opportunity to enjoy her favorite soap operas. Doris found great joy in going out to eat, reveling in the company of friends and family. At home, she was the doting owner of her two beloved dogs, Sissy and Missy, who were constant companions and a source of comfort and joy.
Doris Hall lived a life marked by love, laughter, and dedication to those she held dear. Her presence was a gift to all who had the pleasure of knowing her, and she will be deeply missed. As we bid farewell to Granny, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the indelible impact she made on the hearts of so many. Her legacy of love and laughter will continue to resonate with us all, reminding us of the preciousness of family and the simple joys that life offers.
