Kathleen Alice Wagner

(1947-2025)

Kathleen Alice Wagner Rawlings peacefully went to Heaven at the age of 77 on July 16, 2025 at Brodie Ranch Nursing Home in Austin.

“A Grammy is warm hugs and sweet memories. She remembers all of your accomplishments and forgets all of your mistakes.”

Kathie to some, Grammy to most, was born on Oct. 1, 1947 in Blanco. She was the daughter of Andrew and Ruby Wagner, older sister to Terry Wagner (wife Joyce), and caring aunt to Amanda Wagner. She attended and graduated high school at San Marcos High School. There she met her husband Billy Wayne Rawlings. Kathy became a loving mom to three children: Rhonda Lesak (husband Roy), Randy Rawlings (wife Nicole), and Dee Elsner (husband Chris).

She was an active member in the community by helping anyone she can whether it was with holiday parades or coaching softball. But her biggest legacy in life was being a grandmother, great-grandmother and nurturer to anyone she came in contact with. She has 10 grandchildren: Demi Elsner, Joslyn Lesak Wilson (husband James), Gabi Elsner Dodero (husband Tylor), Andrew James Lesak, Luke Elsner, Nash Elsner, Randell Rawlings, Reese Rawlings, Raven Rawlings, Rexton Rawlings, Brenna Plummer and Gannon Plummer. She felt blessed to meet eight great-grandchildren: Khloe Kathleen Wilson, Konner Wilson, Keaton Wilson, Rydor Dodero, Rory Dodero, Raleigh Dodero, Rydge Dodero and Emree Lesak. She also had many bonus grandkids that she collected through extended family, family friends and life experiences.

Grammy will forever be remembered for the love she had for her family and many other children she watched over as her own. She has left us all with so many wonderful memories and stories that we will never forget. Fly high Grammy!

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s in honor of her love for caring for children.

“It takes a big heart to help shape little hands.” Family and friends are invited to attend Grammy’s celebration of life that will be held at Hays Hills Baptist Church in Buda on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 11 a.m.
