Randy Lee Leifeste
Randy Lee Leifeste

Randy never met a stranger. With a ready smile, a quick joke, and a twinkle in his eye, he had a way of making everyone feel seen and welcome. His sense of humor and kind heart left lasting impressions on all who knew him. Whether it was a clever practical joke or a heartfelt conversation, Randy had a gift for lifting spirits and connecting with people right where they were.
As a devoted Christian, he was an active member of his church through ushering, youth group volunteer, and later, the Stephen Ministry Randy Lee Leifeste
with Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. Randy lived out his faith in quiet acts of service, always eager to help and encourage others. He believed in the good in people and made it his mission to reflect that goodness back into the world.
Randy built a long and respected career in banking. It began with Guaranty State Bank in New Braunfels and then continued with the Commercial Bank in Mason. In 1982, he helped to establish Pioneer National Bank in Fredericksburg which is now First United Bank. He served on the Board of Directors for Hochheim Prairie Insurance for 20 years. He volunteered with the Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanas. But his greatest joy came outside the office-spending time with his family at the ranch in Doss, hunting and raising cattle. His other family oasis was the lake where he enjoyed boating and hearty conversations with lifelong friends.
Randy was a devoted husband to his wife, Phyllis, his partner and best friend for almost 55 years (August 8th) of marriage. To his daughters, he was a steady presence-always there with encouragement, wisdom, and love. And to his son-in-laws, he became like a father, offering guidance, humor, and a deep bond. He often said he was the richest man in the world because of his family.
If you looked around at a Friday night Westlake High School football game, an Ambleside school play or recitation, a Saturday morning soccer match or University of Texas football game, chances are you'd find his familiar face in the crowd — smiling proudly, cheering loudly, and always present. He never missed a chance to support his grandkids, whether it was their first deer hunt, a swim in the backyard pool, a fierce game of ping pong, chess, or a round of dominoes.
His heart was as wide as Texas, and his grandchildren knew it. They could get him to do just about anything and he wouldn't have had it any other way. Sometimes that meant dancing like a ballerina or forgoing his TTU alumni of scarlett and black to adorn some orange and white for a Texas game. His presence was a steady source of love, laughter, and strength.
Randy is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis; his daughter Audra Vasek and her husband Brian, and their children Colton and Connor; his daughter Keva Kramer and her husband Eddie, and their children Ellory, Audyn, and Marleigh; his brother, Rodney Leifeste and wife Besty, sister Rheba Pence; sister in-law Linda Voges; several nieces and a nephew. He adored his family and cherished every moment with them. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, DC and Melrose Geistweidt Leifeste, father and mother in-law Roland and Lucille Voges, brother inlaw Daryl Voges and granddaughter Kenna Joy Kramer.
His life was a testament to love, laughter, and unwavering faith. Randy will be deeply missed, but his warmth, his stories, and his generous spirit will live on in all who had the privilege to know him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church Building Fund or HGLC Lay Ministry.
