Mason County Approves Purchase of New Security Equipment

Mason County Commissioners voted on security equipment for the Road and Bridge Department, approved two new County hires and planned for a third, among other items of business at their regular meeting yesterday.

The County will contract with Guardian, a company they contract with for other security needs, for new security devices at the Road and Bridge offices. Cost for the equipment will be $8,630.75, paid at one time out of the Road and Bridge capital assets fund. This equipment could be used at other remote locations, should the County choose to add any in the future, said County Judge Sheree Hardin.

The hiring of a new Nutrition Program Director, Belinda Hernandez, was approved Tuesday. She will start June 2, overlapping with outgoing Nutrition Program Director Tai Weber for a month of training. Hernandez will earn $20.80 per hour with benefits in her new full time position.
