The Blanco Independent School District was given a C average for the 2022-23 school year by the Texas Education Agency, which calculated the grade based on the district’s performance in the areas of “student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps.”
“Districts or schools earn a C (70–79) for acceptable performance when they serve many students well, but need to provide additional academic support to many more students,” according to the TEA. “Overall grades for districts and schools are calculated based on performance in three key...domains. We take the higher score between how much students know (Student Achievement) or how much better students are doing than last year or than peers in similar schools (School Progress). We then consider whether performance gaps exist among different groups of students (Closing the Gaps).”
BISD was given an 80 in student achievement, a 78 in school progress and a 75 in closing the gaps, according to the report that is available at TXSchools. gov.
