Johnson City lost to Schulenburg 1-0 on Friday, May 16 in Seguin, ending its baseball season in the third round of the playoffs.
Senior Johnny Slawinski pitched all seven innings for Johnson City in the game, but Schulenburg scored one run in the first inning and made that lead stand up against the Johnson City offense the rest of the way.
“Johnny came out, pitched a heck of a game,” head coach Rhett Eickenloff said. “We had our moments, we had our opportunities, and we just didn’t cash in on them. Ultimately, that cost us the game.”
