Six women from the Horseshoe Bay Resort traveled north to the Abilene Country Club to compete in the annual individual match play tournament hosted by the Texas Senior Women’s Golf Association.
This year the TSWGA celebrated their 70th Anniversary. This senior women’s tournament was first played at the Austin Country Club in 1955 with 30 women in attendance from across the state of Texas. The annual tournament now annually hosts 144 women from its member clubs and rotates the tournament around the state. In the last ten years of this historic tournament, Horseshoe Bay competitors have proudly won the TSWGA Championship three times -- Leslie Mc-Callick (2015), Terry Dukes (2016) and Jennifer Hoyt (2023).
This year, Terry Dukes, Leslie McCallick and Lynn Bishop competed in a qualifying round for the championship flight. With Terry coming in second and Leslie fourth in the qualifying round, they won the team cup this year with the lowest combined qualifying scores of any two women from the same golf club. This is the third year in a row that the team cup was won by HSB participants and traveled back to Horseshoe Bay for an annual stay!
