Wade C. Griffin is the new Mason Independent School District athletic director and football head coach after the Board of Trustees unanimously approved his hire May 12.
'Mason has been one of the premiere small school jobs in the state,' he said. 'Any time you can surround yourself and your family around people that are winners, it's just a draw. When you're competitive and have kids around sports, it just makes it a very appealing job and community.'
Griffin spent the last three years in the same position at the Weimar Independent School District where he also served as the powerlifting head coach. He has an overall record of 178-103 with stops at Giddings, White Settlement Brewer, Elgin and Brookshire Royal high schools.
