Mason UIL Academics Team Wins Regional Championship

The Mason High School UIL Academics Team won the Regional Championship at their contest held at Texas A&M Corpus Christi on April 25-26. This is the second year in a row that the team has won the regional meet.

Three students managed to qualify for State in two separate events. Hannah Holbrook was the champion of both Lincoln-Douglas Debate and Informative Speaking. Rylan Todd was the individual champion of Accounting and also advanced as a member of the 1st place Current Events Team. Elizabeth McFarland placed 2nd in both Persuasive Speaking and Prose Interpretation.

In addition to those three double-qualifiers, six additional students will be competing at State. John Preston Parrish won 1st as an individual in Current Issues & Events while Rylan Todd placed 4th and Briley Lehmberg placed 6th. Together, Parrish, Todd, Lehmberg, and Jaxson Reichenau won the Current Events Team competition and will return to State.
