Earley Represents Johnson City At State Track Meet

Senior Jackie Earley competed in the UIL state track and field meet in Austin on May 3 as the lone Johnson City athlete that qualified for the event.

Earley finished fifth in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:21.76, around 18 seconds behind the time of 5:03.92 set by the overall event winner, Elysian Fields’s Cara Sims. Earley’s time was a personal record in the 1600 meter events.

Earley also competed in the 3200-meter run and finished seventh with a time of 11:53.95. Her time was about a minute slower than the first-place time of 10:47.51, also set by Sims.
