A jury started to hear the state of Texas’s capital murder case against a New Jersey man last week and the trial has proceeded into this week. Mark Skladany, 33, is accused of killing 77-year-old John Wayne Jones, during an attempted burglary in Blanco County on Dec. 12, 2022.
According to the court coordinator’s office on Friday, May 2, the state rested its case on May 1, and the defense began to present its case on Monday.
As of press time on Tuesday morning, the state was in the process of presenting rebuttal testimony after the defense rested.
