Cargill Aims to Prioritize Infrastructure Needs as Blanco Mayor
Candy Cargill reacts to the unofficial ballot count during the watch party at the 419 she co-hosted with council member Ryan Moses. Cargill handily won the mayor’s seat while Moses was within three votes of winning another term as a council member.

If you know Candy Cargill, you can’t be surprised what she was doing when election results rolled in Saturday night.

“I was chit chatting, visiting and talking – imagine that – when I saw some faces smiling at me,” she said. “About that time, it was up on the big screen for all to see. I was shocked and ever so grateful.”

Cargill won the election for Blanco mayor and will be sworn in after votes are canvassed at the May 13 city council meeting. She bested Jim Reed in Saturday’s election, garnering 227 votes to his 61.
