Tornado Warnings and Severe Storms Impact Central Texas

As of 8:00 AM CDT on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued multiple severe weather alerts across Central Texas, including active Tornado Warnings and Severe Thunderstorm Watches. Residents in Gillespie, Blanco, Burnet, and surrounding counties are urged to take immediate precautions as dangerous storms move through the region.

Active Tornado Warning

A Tornado Warning remains in effect until 8:00 AM CDT for northwestern Blanco and southeastern Gillespie counties. At 7:29 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Stonewall, moving northeast at 35 mph. Hazards include a tornado and quarter-sized hail. Areas impacted include Stonewall, Hye, LBJ State Park, Albert, Rocky Creek, Sandy, and Johnson City. Residents in these areas should seek shelter immediately.
