The Blanco tennis team competed at the District 5-3A Tennis Tournament April 23-24. The BHS boys varsity team won the runner- up plaque.
Aidan McCarthy won the boys singles district championship. McCarthy defeated Bradshaw of Comfort 6-0, 6-0 in the first round. In the semifinal round, he beat Davis of Ingram 6-1, 6-0. In the finals on Thursday, McCarthy won 6-2, 6-3 against Huber of Ingram.
Colby Murphree and Caden Wood defeated Harper and Raybion of Brady 6-1, 6-2 in the first round of boys doubles. In the semifinals, Murphree and Wood split sets with Luna/Fairchild of Ingram with the Ingram duo winning 6-2, 5-7, 6-4. Murphree and Wood played for third again splitting sets and falling to Rief/Perez of Ingram 4-6, 6-4, 7-5. Justin Karnes and Foster Capshaw lost in round one to the eventual district champions, Kelly/Wood of Llano by a score of 6-4, 6-2.
