After defeating Holland 10-0 in game 1, Johnson City fell by scores of 6-5 and 14-6 in games 2 and 3, respectively, in the bi-district round of the playoffs, and its season came to an end following an undefeated district campaign.

Game 1 was all Johnson City from the beginning, with senior Bo Crownover pitching six shutout innings. However, the tide turned in Holland’s favor in game 2 when the Lady Hornets jumped out to an early lead, fending off the Lady Eagles’ comeback attempts in the fourth and seventh innings to even the series. After an early slugfest in game 3, Holland jumped out to a 10-6 lead in game 3 and added on towards the end to take the game and stop Johnson City’s postseason run.

“[Holland’s] a good team, they’re a good softball team,” Head coach Brent Harris said, following game two’s loss. “We know that they hit the ball good too” The loss in game three marked the fifth straight season that Johnson City softball has been eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.
