Blanco County Officials Hold Meeting on Proposal to Establish City of Hobbes

A public meeting was held Saturday in Johnson City on the possible incorporation of a new city in Blanco County.

The possible formation of the City of Hobbes will be on the May 3 ballot, as well as a vote for possible city officials if the proposition is approved. Also on the ballot will be a vote for Jeff Sandefer or Paula Benningfield for mayor, and Paul T. Diehl Jr., Ron Gay or Christina Gonzalez for the two commissioner positions.

Only voters living within the boundaries of the proposed new city will be eligible to vote. A plat was on display at the meeting which showed 89 properties of various acreage, which would be included in the proposed city. The location of the city encompasses the RV park at Miller Creek and some of the surrounding areas.
