The 10,500 square foot metal warehouse on 3.1 acres at 201 Legion Drive across from Badu Park had been on the market for quite some time, with many local residents wondering what it may one day become. At long last, the future of this prime river adjacent property looks bright thanks to a local entrepreneurial couple with deep ties to the community.
Eric & Amber Kloepper along with Chase Merrill and Jordana Miiller Merrill have purchased the property as the future home of the Llano River Market, a monthly market that will eventually feature over 150 indoor and outdoor vendors. A new Facebook Page for the business was launched on January 30th, where the Kloeppers and Merrills shared their vision for the first time. "We'll have a diverse array of offerings, including charming antiques and vintage items, unique handmade goods, local provisions and more. As the market evolves, we look forward to incorporating a biergarten, food trucks, and live music that will create an unforgettable atmosphere," the post read. Outside of the monthly market, the venue will be available for event rental and family-friendly festivals. "Together, we aim to strengthen our community bonds by collaborating with local organizations and individuals for the greater good of all."
This is a happy ending for one of the town's most talked about properties. Over the summer, local bartender and horse trainer Courtney Adorni leased the building in hopes of turning it into a roping barn and dance hall. The grand opening was in September, but the building has remained quiet ever since.
