The Johnson City softball team beat Goldthwaite 12-0 on March 9 to move to 5-0 in district games as league play approaches its midpoint.

Undefeated and sitting on top of the district, the Lady Eagles are almost halfway through the 12-game district stretch of the season. With crucial matchups on the horizon set for March 24 and March 27 with second-place Mason, which is also undefeated in district play, head coach Callen Stevenson is preparing his team for the tests to come.

“We practice the little things constantly, there are absolutely some things we can get better at,” Stevenson said. “We got a lot of young bodies that don’t have a lot of high school experience, and they’re doing a great job getting better and figuring out the speed of things, and I’m super proud of them.”
