The Hill Country 100 Club celebrated area first responders at its annual meeting and awards banquet last Thursday.
The Hill Country 100 Club is a non-profit organization that was formed in 2001. Its primary mission is to support the families of first responders who are injured or killed in the line of duty.
If first responders lose their life in the line of duty, the club issues a $25,000 check to the beneficiary within 24-48 hours of the event. The Hill Country 100 Club also presents scholarships to graduating seniors who want to pursue a career as a first responder.
