The Mason High School baseball team defeated Goldthwaite 7-3 to begin District 28-2A play March 5 after beating Ballinger 12-2 March 3 in five innings in non-district play.
Mason head coach Jay Immel noted that Goldthwaite features a group of athletic players.
“Whenever you win district in basketball — and all those same kids play baseball as well —that was a good, a good win for us,” he said.
