The Llano High School softball team will begin District 5-3A play against Comfort at 7 p.m. Friday, March 13.
The Deer are 11-10 on the year with a .380 batting average and 184 runs in 22 games. Junior Mariah McCullough leads with 26 RBI off 28 hits that includes five doubles, a triple and a home run. Senior Ella Thiele has 22 RBI off 25 hits with five doubles, a triple and three homers.
Thiele is one of four Comfort pitchers. She has a 4.61 ERA in 41 innings and has allowed 27 earned runs off 47 hits with 68 strikeouts. Freshman Paige Werner has a 9.33 ERA in 63 innings and has allowed 48 earned runs with 26 strikeouts.
