The Highland Lakes Democratic Women (HLDW) will host its monthly brown bag lunch and program on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at La Quinta, 501 RM 2147, Marble Falls. Come at noon and bring your own lunch. There is cover charge of $5.00 at the door. Attendees are asked to park at the back of La Quinta and enter through the double doors.
Guest speaker Leila Green Little has regularly done her civic duty as a voter since she first registered at the age of eighteen. In her late thirties, she dove headfirst into single action advocacy when censorship reared its ugly head at her public library. After advocating for change to elected officials locally and at the State Capitol, she chose to run for office herself. Leila is the Democratic candidate for Precinct 4 Llano County Commissioner. After the brief HLDW business meeting at 1:00 p.m., Little will discuss her journey from voter to advocate to candidate and share her platform.
HLDW’s “Cookies for Scholarships” will also be available at the March meeting for a donation. The deadline for the high school and adult learner scholarship applications is Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
