The Mason High School boys basketball team wrapped up the 2025-26 season with a 16-14 overall record, a runner-up finish in District 29-2A and a bi-district championship.
Head coach Craig Koch, who completed his first season at the helm, said he was so proud of the players for all they’ve accomplished and told them so.
“We changed everything that you had known for the past two or three years,” he said. “None of you have ever played in a playoff game, and we won one. I’ve always been honest with them. This was the worst basketball situation that I've ever walked into. I got you on December first and to get second in the district and win a playoff game would have been unfathomable and most people in Mason didn't think we could do. Now you became pretty good basketball players. If I'd have had you on November the first instead of December the first, we probably would have been 26-4.”
