Blanco baseball team opens 2026 season 1-3-1

The Blanco baseball team started its 2026 Feb. 16 and has a 1-3-1 record through its first five games.

The Panthers opened the season Feb. 16 with a 9-2 loss to Johnson City. Lane Bizzell took the loss on the mound. Eli Walker pitched four scoreless innings for Blanco and Henry Pfluger threw one scoreless inning. Pfluger was two-for-three at the plate. Adrian Chalico and Rex Wisdom both had a hit.

Blanco played in the Marion tournament Feb. 18-20. In the opening game, the Panthers tied Long Creek 5-5. Madden Huskerson went three strong innings on the mound as he scattered eight hits and struck out three. Pfluger pitched in relief and gave up one hit in one inning. Pfluger tripled in two runs to tie the game when time expired. He was onefor- two with two RBI and a sacrifice bunt. Bizzell had a hit, Huskerson singled and Hunter Gonzales doubled. Chalico, Wyatt Allison and Brady Myers each scored a run.
