A quartet of HSB POA volunteers finished building a boardwalk across the often mushy natural springhead at Fox Hollow Springs Park on Thursday, Feb. 12.
According to POA Board Member Rick Overholt, “The 38 foot long boardwalk will help moms pushing buggies while herding children complete the path around the park without taking home a souvenir of muddy shoes!” The building materials were purchased by the HSB POA.
This section of Fox Hollow Springs Park has been mucky every spring since 1894, where the Conrad Fuchs family kept their goat corral in this meadow and drew water from the natural spring's miraculous flow. The boardwalk spans the stretch that stays wet for two to three weeks after every rain.
