Any adult woman returning to college and/or to a certification program and pursuing a career goal is encouraged to apply for one of the scholarships offered by the Highland Lakes Service League. The criteria and application are available on the HLSL website at www.hlsl.org.
Since 2011, HLSL has awarded 119 Scholarships and a total of $285,785 to women determined to improve their lives through education. Last year alone, the organization gave over $65,935 in scholarships. HLSL raises money primarily through The Chuckwagon Chow Down and Auction. That money provides grants to nonprofits and scholarships for adult women. Because scholarship recipients help meet the workforce needs of our community, preference is given to those applicants interested in staying in Burnet or Llano counties.
Scholarship applications are due no later than April 1, 2026, and are available at www.hlsl.org under the tab “scholarships.” Students must be enrolled in an institution of higher education or a certification program at the time of application.
