There will not be an election to fill council seats for the City of Blanco or positions on the Blanco ISD Board of Trustees.
Three candidates filed for three seats on the Blanco City Council and two candidates filed for two positions on the BISD board. There will be no election to fill the seats since the same number of candidates filed as there were offices available. Friday was the last day to file for either office.
The three who filed for city council are Ryan Moses, Bill Depew and Matt Herden. Moses has been on the city council since 2023. He was elected for a twoyear term that year. He filed for re-election in 2025 but lost in a narrow race. He was re-appointed to the council last May to fill the final year on the term of Candy Cargill, who was elected mayor. Depew and Herden, whose wife Martha was previously the Blanco mayor, will serve their first terms on the council.
