2026 Blanco County Youth Livestock Show was a success

2026 Blanco County Youth Livestock Show was a success
Blanco FFA Senior Preslee Faris recently exhibited two Dorper Market Lambs at the San Angelo Stock Show. She placed second in the light weight class and placed seventh in the middle weight class. She made the sale with her second place lamb. Their sale is April 18. Faris is having an outstanding stock show season and “we are proud of all of her accomplishments. Congratulations, Preslee,” said Travis Kersten, Blanco FFA advisor.

The 2026 Blanco County Youth Show turned out to be a great success and meaningful experience for the youth of Blanco County due to the help of countless volunteers and the Blanco County 4-H and FFA Youth Council board.

Exhibitors, parents and other volunteers showed up for a workday on Dec. 6 at 8 a.m. to clean and set up the barn in preparation for the show. With their assistance, the barn was ready for the show by noon. It is always amazing to watch everyone work together to make this day run so smoothly.

This past summer, awards were ordered that included buckles, cups, cooler backpacks, buyer appreciation awards, banners and jackets. Many generous local businesses and individuals sponsor these awards. Candy and goodies were donated by the Blanco County Wild Game Dinner, held the first Saturday in October. Johnson City Bank sponsored the champion buyer’s caps.
