The Gillespie County AgriLife Extension Office with assistance from the Hill Country Master Gardeners will hold their 8th annual Plantastic Vegetable Gardening Seminar on Feb. 27, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Gillespie County Extension Office (38 Business Court, Fredericksburg).
This year’s general sessions speaker with be David Rodruigez, Bexar County Horticulture Extension Agent, who will speak on locally adapted vegetable varieties and top vegetable gardening mistakes. Breakout program topics include growing your green manure, gardening 101, edible landscaping, salsa gardening, garden propagation and attracting insects using flowers. Sessions are applicable to both new and experienced vegetable gardeners, organic and conventional.
Door prizes will be drawn at the end. During breaks, stop by the seed table to test your knowledge at identifying the various vegetable seeds.
