In February, George Washington is commemorated as a distinguished founding father of the nation. Contrary to the aspirations of his supporters to elevate him to the status of a king or dictator, Washington utilized his influence and authority to advocate for the establishment and ratification of the United States Constitution. Blanco County Judge Brett Bray and Blanco Mayor Candy Cargill presented proclamations to Blair Rudy, a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, to commemorate George Washington’s birthday on Sunday, Feb. 22.
