Johnson City lost to Goldthwaite 84-44 Feb. 10 in its final home game of the season.

The Eagles have a 4-7 district record going into the final game of the season, which was at Center Point (0-11) after press time Tuesday. Even if Johnson City wins, it is not enough to reach the playoff-qualifying fourth-place in the district. However, it is a two-game improvement over last season’s 2-10 record district , which head coach Rich Powers sees as progress in his first season after taking the reigns of the team.

“I do think we made some strides this year,” Powers said. “We’re trending in the right direction.”
