The Johnson City girls basketball team lost 55-35 to Goldthwaite on Feb.10 in the final game of its 2025-26 season.

The Lady Eagles finish the district schedule of 4-8, three games back of its fourth-place 7-5 finish a season ago and good for a fifth-place finish this season, which does not qualify for the playoffs. Despite the final record, head coach Chris Schlicke is proud of his team for fighting all the way through the season.

“Sometimes, you just got to take the hand that life gives you, and you got to make the best of it,” Schlicke said. “You just got to keep fighting and keep persevering on, and that’s what this group did from game one all the way.”
