Mason Junior High UIL Academic Team Places First Overall for the Sixth Year in a Row
6th Grade results - had the most points of all 6th grade groups with 244 total points. Art - 3rd place team - Presley Garza, Alexa Segura, Lenny Chavarria, Cooper Little; Calculator - 1st place Evie Hills, 3rd place Harper Fowler, 1st place team - Hills, Fowler, and Karlee Dean Towery; Chess - 6th place - Shaylyn Asbill, 3rd place team - Asbill, Brantlin Ramon, Cooper Little; Editorial Writing - 2nd place Harper Fowler; Impromptu - 1st place - Sadie Smith, 2nd place - Harper Fowler; Listening - 3rd place - Graham Hicks, 4th place - Sadie Smith, 1st place team - Hicks, Smith, Cailey Rich; Maps, Graphs, & Charts - 6th place - Cash Dyson, 1st place team - Dyson, Karlee Dean Towery, Harper Fowler; Mathematics - 2nd place - Cash Dyson; Modern Oratory - 2nd place - Evie Hills, 3rd place - Sadie Smith; Music Memory - 3rd place - Eduardo Segura, 4th place - Braxtyn Halamicek, 2nd place team - Segura, Halamicek, and Harper Fowler; Oral Reading - 1st place - Graham Hicks; Ready Writing - 1st place - Brylee Yonker; Social Studies - 2nd place - Eduardo Segura, 5th place - Miles Foster, 1st place team - Segura, Foster, and Cash Dyson; Spelling - 5th place - Eduardo Segura, 2nd place team - Segura, Brylee Yonker, and Cash Dyson. Top three point earners for 6th grade were Sadie Smith with 41 points, Eduardo Segura with 48 points, and Harper Fowler with 56 points.

By Bobby Halamicek The Mason Junior High UIL Academic team traveled to Johnson City in December to compete in the annual event. They placed first overall with for the sixth year in a row. They won the overall meet and Goldthwaite placed second. Each grade won their respective grade when adding up overall points from each contest.
