The Johnson City girls basketball teams split a pair of games last week.

The Lady Eagles lost a road game to San Saba, 5633 on Jan. 28, and defeated Junction 55-23 at home on Jan. 30.

Johnson City is 4-5 in district play, good for fifth place in the district, with three games remaining. Harper, with its matching district record, is fourth in the district and owns the tiebreaker over the Lady Eagles. There are two-and-a- half game gaps between these two schools and the schools above and below them in the standings, meaning that the fourth and final playoff spot will likely be claimed by either Johnson City or Harper.
