Johnson City beat San Saba 62-40 on the road on Jan. 28 then dropped a 43-32 game at home against Junction last Friday.
The Eagles, now with a 3-5 district record, are a halfgame behind Harper (3-4) for the fourth and final playoff spot. With four games left in the season, Johnson City still finds itself in direct control of its playoff destiny thanks to a pending matchup with Harper after press time Tuesday.
Johnson City’s win over San Saba on Jan. 28 improved its record to 3-4 and completed the two-game sweep over the Armadillos after the Jan. 2 district-opening 49-39 win.
