The Mason High School girls basketball team did enough to beat Harper 53-43 January 28 in District 29-2A play and improve to 9-0 and 32-1 on the season.
In one big way, Mason’s only contest of the week was different because the game was played a day later than scheduled because of the icy conditions from the weekend.
“I think Harper played really hard,” Cowgirls head coach Alicia Cummings said. “I think they played as well as they probably could have played. I think that we were maybe a little out of sync. It was probably closer, I guess, than usual but felt like we really were in control of the game. We never necessarily pulled away like we usually do, I guess, may be the right way to say that.”
