The Hill District Grandstand livestock show was held January 12-17, 2026. Nearly fifty Mason 4-H and FFA members participated in the fifth annual show. In 2021, during the restriction of large gatherings due to the Covid outbreak, stock show families exhibited remarkable resilience to keep the tradition of supporting 4-H and FFA youth in their involvement in agriculture alive. With the threat of major stock shows canceling their shows in 2022, area industry supporters initiated a Grandstand Committee. This committee and representatives of the Hill Country District Junior Livestock Show united their efforts to provide an avenue for youth to exhibit their livestock projects during a one-week interval. Shows for each species - cattle, sheep, swine, goats, and turkeys - are held at livestock venues in Comfort, Kerrville, Fredericksburg and Llano. Agriculture mechanics and livestock judging have been added to the contests. At the conclusion of the week of competition, an auction is held for those animals qualifying for the sale.
