Stevens selected to fill BPGCD board director seat

Stevens selected to fill BPGCD board director seat

Gregory Stevens was appointed as a director for the Blanco-Pedernales Groundwater Conservation District at its Jan. 15 meeting.

Stevens will finish the term of Bob Reed, who served on the board for a decade until he retired last fall. That term will expire in May 2027.

Stevens is a contract worker at BPGCD. The board discussed whether a contract worker can serve as a board director. BGPCD legal counsel Greg Ellis said that Stevens can serve on the board, but would need to disclose conflicts and abstain from voting on matters related to his contract. Stevens will be sworn into office at the February board meeting.
