The Llano High School cheer squad recorded its best finish at the state competition in school history January 15.
The cheerleaders finished 11th overall in the Class 3A Division I competition.
“Everybody who showed up, you could tell they put in the work to do it,” head coach Kayla Kattner said. “Everybody's been looking at the rules and looking at how the judges score and all that kind of stuff. It's such a tough competition. You go out and you get three minutes and that's it. There is no next play, no ‘oh we messed up. We'll get them the next time.’ There's none of that. You get three minutes to go out there and try to put everything you have in that three minutes and convince them that you deserve much better scores. So it's tough.”
