The Blanco County Commissioners extended the county-wide burn ban at their meeting Tuesday.
The burn ban is now set to expire at noon on Feb. 10 unless the commissioners extend it.
Current drought conditions in the county are the worst they’ve been since last summer. The The latest U.S. Drought Monitor, issued last Thursday, shows 100 percent of Blanco County in severe drought, which is the midpoint of the five-step monitor. The previous week, only 74.13 percent of the county was listed in severe drought, while the other 25.87 was listed in moderate drought.
