One of the newest members of the Blanco Independent School District’s Board of Trustees has been appointed to serve on the board of directors of the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB).
The nonprofit organization, which provides guidance to trustees statewide, announced on Dec. 12 that its board had elected Stephen Mackey to an interim seat and that he will be representing TASB Region 13, Position B.
Now in the second year of a three-year term as a BISD trustee, Mackey said that he first encountered TASB during a training session for newly-elected school board members.
